About Tamara Breuer, LMT, CPT
Tamara is a licensed massage therapist and certified personal trainer in Washington D.C. She views bodywork and movement as different tools to promote self-awareness in the body and mind. Her specialty is providing a blend of manual therapy and corrective exercise techniques to mitigate chronic pain and postural dysfunction. Tamara’s goal is to help people move with less restrictions in order to enjoy their boundless bodies.
Tamara holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland. She is a graduate of the Potomac Massage Training Institute and has been practicing massage for the past four years. While working with massage clients, she noticed that the majority of their chronic pain issues was caused by under-active muscles that needed to be strengthened. She earned her personal training certification from NASM in 2019 with the goal of providing long-term solutions for managing her clients’ pain. She currently practices massage at The Well and personal training at Fit360, both located in Mount Pleasant neighborhood.
As a massage therapist, Tamara provides a blend of both relaxing sessions to soothe the nervous system and focused trigger point work to release adhesions in the muscle tissue. She offers Thai massage, deep tissue and sports massage.
As a personal trainer, Tamara promotes a mindful mentality of listening to the body’s limits while pushing past mental barriers to accomplish physical goals. Her strengths involve correcting postural dysfunction, working with chronic pain issues and improving movement skills.
In her free time, Tamara is an avid movement lover and enjoys Crossfit, weightlifting and yoga. Most recently, she is trying to learn aerial silks dancing.
