About Tamara Breuer, LMT
Tamara is a licensed massage therapist in Washington D.C. She views massage as a tool to facilitate healing and self-discovery. Tamara first encountered bodywork during her training as an actress in New York. During this time, she used yoga and different bodywork modalities to deepen her body awareness while performing onstage. Soon she found that her interest in healing arts outweighed her passion in theatre, and she moved to Washington D.C. to enroll in massage school at the Potomac Massage Training Institute. Unlike most massage schools that deliver massage training within a brief timespan, PMTI's professional massage training lasted eighteen months, allowing for more hours of practice and depth. Upon the completion of her training, Tamara worked in several different massage environments, specializing in both relaxing Swedish massages and focused deep tissue work. During this time, Tamara's favorite part of giving massage became teaching her clients how to take charge of their own healing journey.
In January of 2017, Tamara traveled to Thailand to study Thai massage. Along with her weekly studies with a Thai massage master at Wat Sri Goet, she completed a 150 hour professional training program at Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai, accredited by the Thai Ministry of Education. For the past two years, Tamara has been pursuing a B.S. in kinesiology at the University of Maryland with the intention of following a career In physical therapy.
Outside of massage, Tamara is an avid movement lover and enjoys Crossfit, weightlifting and yoga. Most recently, she is trying to learn aerial silks dancing.
